Overview
Pangarchulla Peak Trek is a 6-day trek that starts from Joshimath, a small town in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. From Joshimath, you will drive to Dhak village, where you will begin your trek. You will pass through forests of oak, rhododendron, and pine, and reach the first campsite at Khulara. The next day, you will trek to Kuari Pass (3650 m), a famous pass that offers spectacular views of Nanda Devi, Dronagiri, Kamet, Chaukhamba, and other peaks. You will also visit the Lord Curzon Trail, a historic trail that was used by Lord Curzon, the former Viceroy of India, in 1905. From Kuari Pass, you will descend to Gailgarh, where you will camp for the night. The third day is the most challenging and rewarding day of the trek, as you will attempt to summit Pangarchulla Peak (4575 m). You will start early in the morning and trek through steep slopes, rocky patches, and snow fields. You will reach the top of the peak by noon and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Himalayas. You will then descend to Khulara and camp there. The fourth day is a relaxing day, as you will trek back to Dhak village and drive to Joshimath. You will stay in a hotel in Joshimath and rest for the night. The fifth day is a sightseeing day, as you will visit some of the famous attractions in Joshimath, such as Narsingh Temple, Shankaracharya Math, Tapovan Hot Springs, and Auli Ski Resort. You will also get a chance to interact with the local people and learn about their culture and traditions. The sixth day is the last day of the trek, as you will drive back to Haridwar or Dehradun and catch your train or flight back home.
